Dearest Family,

This morning I went at 7:00 to stand at one of our famous traffic circles
with anti war posters; anti war calls to legislators are by far a great
majority.

Also big here is Jobs with Justice campaign for cleaning people in Boston,
out on strike. They only have part-time jobs, $39 a day with no benefits,
mostly immigrant workers.

And then there are the Jews against the occupation of Palestinian
territories!

Know that we think about you all the time and miss you, and feel so lucky
that we know you!

Lots of love to you all, ...

*****PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY!*****
STRIKE!!! Bulletin #13: Justice for Janitors

SOLIDARITY WORKS!
Another 1,000 janitors went on strike last night as community support intensified, and negotiations with a
federal mediator broke off. The building owners and cleaning contractors just don't get it! Volunteers are
needed everyday at the strike locations below and at the Jobs With Justice office to help with mobilization.
We need decisive action by community supporters on Thursday to send the messege to the cleaning
companies and building owners...

WHATEVER IT TAKES, FOR HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES, AND ONE DAY LONGER THAN THAT!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Welcome to the Justice for Janitors Strike Bulletin. If you’re receiving this message as a forward and would like to join our list, visit
http://www.massjwj.net and sign the online Solidarity Pledge. Even if you’re on our email list, please, visit our website and sign our online
pledge which has already been signed by over 300 people.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
STAND UP TO (IN)EQUITY!
A picket line is being maintained downtown at 100 Summer St., the office of Equity Properties, who has
become an obstacle to the janitors’ demands by refusing to issue a statement in support of the janitors.
Keep your eye on this location for future actions!

VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY
NEEDED FOR CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE!
This is going to be the biggest action yet and possibly one of the most militant in the Boston struggle. If
you're even remotely thinking about it, please call. OUR GOAL IS TO MOBILIZE 100 PEOPLE TO BE
ARRESTED TOMORROW. You'll be participating in an action on a scale much larger than Boston has seen
in years!
Now's time to show Boston building owners just how committed we are to supporting the strike.
If you can volunteer to participate, please call us ASAP at 617-524-8778.

ATTENTION ARLINGTON RESIDENTS!
Did you know that UNICCO CEO Steve Kletjian has a house in Arlington (along with Boston, Cape Cod, and Palm Beach)? If you
would like to help educate your fellow Arlington neighbors about the issues in the janitors' struggle and encourage Steve not to
embarrass his neighbors by his anti-worker, greedy corporate policies, please, contact the Jobs With Justice office.

ATTENTION CAMBRIDGE RESIDENTS!
If there is a strike, one of the buildings that may be affected is One University Place outside of Central Square. It is owned by MIT and
cleaned by UNICCO. If you would like to be part of a delegation to hold MIT accountable to community standards on workers' rights,
please contact Jobs With Justice.

JUSTICE FOR JANITORS SOLIDARITY PLEDGE
More than 10,000 janitors in the Boston-area and throughout Massachusetts provide a valuable service. They sweep floors,
empty garbage and scrub toilets to keep our office buildings and universities clean and the workdays running smoothly. The
janitors work hard, pay taxes and make contributions to our communities. Yet, on part-time jobs with no benefits, they are
struggling to afford decent housing and pay the doctor's bills.
We stand in solidarity with janitors who are uniting to win for good jobs with decent wages and affordable health insurance.
We support the janitors and their efforts to improve the quality of life in our communities.

____ Please, send me _______ posters to post in my workplace or in local businesses.
