Red Bull's Ricciardo not going 'too crazy' about Renault F1 update
Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo says he is not expecting a drastic improvement from supplier Renault's upgraded Formula 1 engine, which is set to be available in Austin.
Ricciardo and team-mate Daniil Kvyat have taken a series of engine-change penalties this season as Renault has struggled for reliability and performance.
Red Bull and Renault's relationship has broken down over the course of the year, culminating in the pair deciding to end their association at the end of the season.
Ricciardo said Red Bull will take the updated power unit when it is available - but the team should not "get too crazy" about it.
"We'll take what we can get," said the Australian. "It's not going to be 40 horsepower.
"It's better than what we've got now, but I wouldn't get too crazy about it.
"I'll take it, but I don't think it's going to be worth half a second."
Ricciardo and Kvyat will need to take further penalties when Red Bull chooses to fit the upgraded power units.
When asked if he feels the update is worth taking a penalty for, Ricciardo said: "It depends how much it is.
"From what I've heard it's not that much, so it's on the cusp at the moment."
Last week, Renault head of trackside operations Remi Taffin said the French manufacturer is hoping to have completed the upgrade validation in time for the United States GP.
But when Red Bull boss Christian Horner was asked what he knew of the situation regarding the Renault upgrade, he said: "I'm a little bit in the dark as to when that might be.
"It won't be Sochi that's for sure."

Mercedes’ engine customers will receive a new power unit for this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi Autodrom according to German media publicationAuto Motor und Sport.
Both Williams drivers, one of the Force Indias ( believed to be Perez) and both Lotus drivers will get a fresh engine for this weekend’s race in Sochi. This will be their fourth and final engine of the season.
They will not get to use the new, improved Mercedes PU which was introduced in Monza until the start of 2016. It is believed that currently, this version of the engine requires a certain type of fuel, Petronas, which only Mercedes currently use.
Sauber will also receive a new Ferrari engine in Sochi. They will get the Canada specification rather than the upgraded one from Monza, which factory team Ferrari use. The Swiss-based team will not be required to use a fifth engine before the end of the season as they plan to rotate their third and fourth engines for various races and practice sessions. They will use their fourth engine in all of the races while the third engine, which debuted in Spa, will be used from Austin, and will be used in all of the remaining practice sessions.

https://en.wikipedia...ugal_compressor

Sto onda opet donosi novi set problema.
Mnogo hteo, mnogo zapoceo, cas umrli Hondu je omeo.
