Nije neko iznenadjenje, 4 godine bez titule, visilo je u vazduhu, ovi novi derektori izgleda strogo slijede namjere pokojnog sefa kako u izboru vozaca tako i ovo. Jedino iznenadjenje ja da je to sada obavljeno, a ne na zavrsetku prosle sezone, sto vjerovatno ukazuje da nije bas bila jednoglasna odluka.

Jedna od  Arrivabene slabosti da je suvise bio popustljiv prema osoblju, davao im slobodne dane nakon nedeljnih pobjeda, ( suprotno od Binotto koji je zaveo red i disciplinu u svom  odeljenju), a izgleda da je predugo stitio Kimija.

 

Ja se nadam da je na odluku krucijalno uticala cinjenica o predvidjenim performansima bolida za ovu godinu. Ubrzo cemo saznati.

Kriju dosta toga. Ista filozofija prednjeg krila kao kod Alfe. Stanjili airbox tako da ce sa manje krila imati isto prianjanje od zadnjeg krila. Zadnji deo je jos kompaktnije spakovan od proslogodisnjeg. Bocni usisnici isti. Ogledala nisu proslogodisnja, tako da kapiram da tu kriju nesto.

Ako su potrefili prednje krilo bice to brza makina.

Ferrari will prioritise Sebastian Vettel over Charles Leclerc in early races

 

Ferrari says Sebastian Vettel will get priority treatment over new teammate Charles Leclerc in the opening portion of the 2019 Formula One season.

 

Ferrari was criticised for its application of team orders last year, having hesitated at several key moments -- it dithered on ordering Kimi Raikkonen to move over for Vettel in Germany before allowing its drivers to fight for the lead on the opening lap of the Italian Grand Prix, handing the initiative to Lewis Hamilton. By contrast, Mercedes wasted little time implementing similar instructions in Germany and Russia.

Further strategy blunders and a series of errors by Vettel ultimately prevented him from winning the championship.

The arrival of Leclerc is one of the fascinating storylines going into the new season and many expect the highly-rated youngster to give Vettel a sterner challenge than he received from Raikkonen. However, new team boss Mattia Binotto admits the team will favour the four-time world champion early on.

"I think it's normal, especially early in the season, that if there are particular situations our priority will be Sebastian," Binotto said at the launch of the team's 2019 car. "He is the guide with which we aim for the championship.

"But there's no prejudice -- the absolute priority is for Ferrari to win."

Despite that admission, Binotto is hopeful Leclerc will turn out to be as competitive as many expect him to be.

"To have a driver pairing so competitive I think it's not a problem but an opportunity. Sebastian has little to prove, and he remains our guide. Charles still has to learn, as pointed out by himself, but we know how talented he is.

 

"I hope to have this problem of having two drivers to manage among the top positions."

Ferrari has removed Philip Morris International brand Mission Winnow from its official Formula 1 team name.

An updated entry list for the 2019 F1 season published by the FIA lists the team’s official name as ‘Scuderia Ferrari’. It was previously entered as ‘Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow’.

Tobacco producer PMI, a long-standing sponsor of Ferrari, revealed its Mission Winnow branding ahead of last year’s Japanese Grand Prix. It has denied the initiative is intended to promote its tobacco products.

However health departments in Australia, where the first round of the 2019 championship will take place in two weeks’ time, and the European Union have expressed concerns over the legal implications of the promotion due to bans on tobacco advertising. The latter told RaceFans last month the initiatives “require further close examination” by the EU.

The Mission Winnow logos feature prominently on the livery of the team’s SF90. The PMI campaign is also promoted by the Ducati team in Moto GP.
