Izgleda da imaju ozbiljne planove s njim dok su ovako navalentni da cak 2 vozaca pomijeraju zbog njega i dobije ovoliko sansi...

 

Mada ne vjerujem da je ista dzabe u F1, podmazali su to na neki nacin.

Kevin Magnussen has admitted he was caught unawares by a hidden detail of his contract with Haas.

When the Ferrari-linked American team said recently it would give Antonio Giovinazzi seven Friday practice outings in 2017, it emerged that it will be Magnussen rather than Romain Grosjean making way on all but one occasion.

Magnussen is quoted by Speed Week: "I didn't know that my contract deviated from his (Grosjean's) on that point.

"I thought both would be the same, so when I was offered the contract I said 'No problem'.

"I think at his former team (Lotus) Romain had a bad experience because they shortened almost all of his Fridays. That is why, on this point, he was more attentive with the contract than I was," the Dane added.

"It's not an ideal situation," Magnussen continued, "but it doesn't bother me. I just have to make up for lost time."

HAAS MAY USE ALFA ROMEO POWER IN 2018

Alfa Romeo could enter Formula 1 in 2018 as an engine supplier to Haas F1 according to Germany's Auto Bild. This follows a statement from Ferrari's president Sergio Marchionne, who said that the name "should be reiterated as a sports brand and consider the possibility to race in F1." Marchionne also added that this return would be in collaboration with Ferrari.

In the report from Auto Bild, it is suggested that Haas' customer engines from Ferrari would bear the name of Alfa Romeo and that this in turn, could allow the Italian automotive giant to place Antonio Giovinazzi at Haas due to the Italian driver being Ferrari's reserve for 2017.

Haas joined Formula 1 in 2016 and is the newest team on the current grid. Its drivers currently are Romain Grosjean, and Kevin Magnussen, while Giovinazzi is undertaking testing roles for the team which will see him take part in a number of FP1 sessions for the remainder of 2017 - the first of which will be this weekend at the British Grand Prix. With Kevin Magnussen signed at the team in 2018 however, and with it looking probable that Grosjean will continue his relationship with the American outfit, it is hard to imagine that Giovinazzi could join the team next season.

Ferrari approached Haas about driver line-up

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has revealed Ferrari asked his team to change its driver line-up to incorporate one of its young drivers.

Ferrari is keen for both Charles Leclerc and Antonio Giovinazzi to step up to Formula 1 race seats next year, with Leclerc having won the F2 championship in dominant fashion and Giovinazzi impressing in two early-season outings for Sauber. While Leclerc is expected to become a Sauber driver in 2018, Steiner says Haas was approached about replacing one of Romain Grosjean or Kevin Magnussen despite both being under contract.

"We work very closely with Ferrari together on things but they respect our decisions," Steiner told RACER. "We are very open with them about what we are doing because that's the only way the partnership works – there is no playing games.



"We know we have got these two drivers and sometimes you need to look after the long term, because next year is short term. Sure, they asked us if we can do something, and we said no. It's fine.

"We make our plans and try to plan as well as possible. When we signed these drivers we had to make the plans together. We need to be consistent.

"I wouldn't say we would confuse ourselves without help from outside but everything is new for us and while consistency sometimes goes against you – sometimes fresh blood helps you do better – we need to build a base. For that, consistency is important. I think we work with both of our drivers very well so at the moment for us there is nothing to be changed."

Steiner added that he believes the experience of current pairing of Grosjean and Magnussen are helping the team develop in the early stages of its F1 history.

"Yeah, I think these guys help but I cannot say if it would have been different if we had someone else in the car, because we don't have the years of experience to say, 'With this guy we did better than that one.'

"We're only in our second year and sometimes you forget that. It looks like we've been here forever now but we've not. Like in any business or sport, you have your ups and downs but I think we are pretty stable and for sure the drivers are helping to grow the team."

The American team Haas says it has put on hold any plans to expand.

Team boss Gunther Steiner said that despite the reputation that the second year is harder for a F1 team, he is impressed with how Haas went in 2017.

"I would not have expected that we are so stable in all areas," he told Auto Motor und Sport.

"Only after the first year are you aware of the level required to put it all together, but we met all of our expectations," Steiner added.

Haas finished eighth overall this year, only ahead of McLaren and Sauber but not far behind Toro Rosso and Renault.

But Steiner said that because of Haas' small size, it makes little sense to make lofty plans to expand the team while Liberty Media contemplates a budget cap for 2021.

"Before we continue to grow, we need to know at what level the budget cap would be. It makes no sense to enlarge the team now and then reduce staff again in 2021," he insisted.

Well-known American drivers have hit back at Haas team boss Gunther Steiner.

Days ago, Steiner said the small Ferrari-linked American team does not have an American driver because there are none on the market that are ready for F1.

"Complete BS," said Indycar driver Graham Rahal.

"If Haas really believes that, why don't you call some of us and give it a shot?

"American drivers are damn good. There's lots of talent here," he said on Twitter, insisting that Indycar is "far more competitive anyways".

Another Indycar driver, Conor Daly, agrees: "How can you possibly call yourselves an 'American' team and totally berate your entire 'home' nationality of drivers?

"There hasn't even been a hint of consideration of any well established American drivers over here," he added.

Nascar legend Jeff Gordon said: "F1 teams will never truly embrace an American driver unless they establish them and train them in Europe themselves from age 9 or 10.

"There's plenty of great talent in America that given the right opportunity and quality equipment could be successful but I don't see it happening any time soon."

Finally, 1978 world champion Mario Andretti called Steiner's comments "wrong and arrogant".

Sergio Marchionne has repeated his hint that a deal between Haas and Maserati could be on the cards.

Last month, the Ferrari president sealed the deal on a title sponsorship between Fiat Chrysler brand Alfa Romeo and Sauber.

Now, Marchionne has his eyes on a similar tie-up, with talks between the Ferrari 'B team' Haas and Maserati said to be taking place.

Italian reporters asked him at the Detroit auto show if he is thinking about sending Maserati into Formula E.

"I'm not so sure. In terms of a possible cooperation, it is maybe better to try to organise a joint project with Haas in formula one," Marchionne answered.

"It would be a good project."

He also said the next step for Alfa Romeo could be a move into Indycar, in partnership with Dallara.

"We do not have much experience in American racing, but we are thinking about Indycar. Why not?" he said.

"Giampaolo Dallara is an excellent specialist and the best Italian engineer in the motor sport industry," Marchionne added.
