Nadam se da gresis jer je rec o pregotivnom liku, ali se slazem sa napisanim. Da stvar bude gora njemu u CV-u stoji da je razbio cetvorostrukog i verovatno buduceg sampiona F1 u istom bolidu, ali apsolutno nista vredno nema od toga...

 

Scenario u kome on moze da dodje do Ferarija je onaj gde Vettel nece doneti ove i sledece sezone ono sto se od njega ocekuje i oni ce se okrenuti sledecem za koga smatraju da je najbolji dostupan. U suprotnom Seb ce se pitati, a njemu ta glavobolja ne treba.

 

Ono sto je samo upitno kod Rica jeste kako se nosi sa pritiskom. Sam je rekao da u RB nemaju tu vrstu moranja jer se otprilike zna da su neka usamljena klasa na gridu odmah iza dva top tima i da je bitno te rezultate da isporuce, a ovo ostalo sto dodje u vidu podijuma i pobeda super.

Aston Martin to become Red Bull Formula 1 team's 2018 title sponsor

Aston Martin is set to become the title sponsor of the Red Bull Formula 1 team for the 2018 season, sources with good knowledge of the situation have revealed.

Red Bull's cars have carried Aston branding since the start of 2016, and Aston has co-operated with Red Bull Advanced Technologies on the development of its Valkyrie hypercar.

A potential new title sponsorship, which would be similar to Red Bull's previous Infiniti deal, would further cement the relationship between the two parties.

The prestigious Aston Martin name getting a higher profile in grand prix racing would also be of interest to F1's new management.

Although those involved declined to formally confirm the title sponsor arrangement, sources have indicated that the deal to name the team Aston Martin Red Bull Racing will be announced in the coming weeks.

"You can speculate all you like but I'm not going to confirm anything," team principal Christian Horner told Autosport.

"We've got a great relationship with Aston, obviously working on and developing the Valkyrie hypercar for them.

"They're doing a great job, the product is great, and they've got a lot of great stuff in the pipeline. There will be news to follow in weeks to come."

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer, who brokered Red Bull's Infiniti deal when in his previous job, admitted that the two companies intend to expand their relationship.

"It's fair to say that one of the reasons I'm here today is to discuss what next season looks like," he told Autosport at this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.

"And within that context, do we or don't we provide an independent engine in 2021? And then join the dots.

"We like the sport and we are a company that aspires to be as valuable as Ferrari.

"That doesn't mean that we have to copy Ferrari in every way, shape and form.

"We're stronger in WEC, but having a presence in F1 is interesting."

Palmer has previously admitted that Aston is taking a close interest in F1's 2021 engine rules.

Like road car rival Porsche, Aston would only consider a direct involvement with its own engine if technology and costs are reined in by the FIA.

"I don't know what will happen with the engine. That will depend on how serious the FIA is about bringing the spectacle back to the sport," Palmer added.

"As a company we kind of sit in the same world as F1, often with the same engineers.

"So the technical capability exists, it's just a matter of money.

"Up to a point it's OK, but if we are going to continue to have heat recovery systems, no cap on the spend, and as many dynamometer hours as you like, then we'll check out.

"But if there is a way of making it work, I think the sport would be a lot richer."

Renault will part with Red Bull

Cyril Abiteboul has all but confirmed reports Renault and Red Bull will split after next season.

It was rumoured in the Singapore paddock recently that the French supplier has already told the energy drink-owned team that it cannot use Renault power beyond 2018.

Renault boss Abiteboul told the French magazine Auto Hebdo: "Sooner or later, Renault will have to part with Red Bull.

"But the only thing I can confirm today is that we have a contract with them for 2018."

Red Bull selects its lucky juniors

 

 

 

 

 

The Red Bull Junior Team - the driver development program run by the energy drink company - has selected four new recruits for 2018.

The lucky winners have all been poached from the karting ranks and include 14-year-old Norwegian Dennis Hauger (pictured here), British racers Johnny Edgar and Harry Thompson - 13-years-old each and Aussia Jack Doohan, the 14-year-old son of motorcycle legend Mick Doohan.

All will be competing in CIK-FIA karting world championships held in Nottingham, great Britain this weekend.

As the youngest, Edgar and Thompson will remain in karting next season, but Hauger and Doohan will graduate to the British Formula 4 series with the Arden team.

 

"There are certain times when there appears to be many potential future stars and other times when there isn't," recently said Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner.

"In the junior formula I don't currently see many great talents, except for a few in F2, in F3 or GP3. We therefore decided to go back to the roots and recruit the best young racers in karting."

Among the young hopefuls, Dennis Hauger is a standout. The Norwegian is managed by former racer Harald Huysman, who once looked after Jenson Button and also discovered Kimi Raikkonen, before handing him over to the Robertson family.

Red Bull missed out on several promising young guns such as McLaren junior Lando Norris, or Mercedes protégé Georges Russell, both winners respectively in F3 and GP3.

Red Bull's former wave of young drivers didn't exactly send sparks flying, with several, like Finnish driver Niko Kari, have already left the company's driver program.

Unfortunately, Richard Verschoor, Dan Ticktum and Neil Verhaegen could follow the same route.

The rumours are true: in 2018 we'll be competing as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.

Today we're announcing Aston Martin as our title partner from the 2018 season. We've been working with the world famous sportscar maker for 18 months and this is the logical next step in strengthening our relationship.



Eighteen months ago, Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin launched an Innovation Partnership. We've carried the iconic wings badge on the nose and sidepods of the RB12 and RB13 and, of course, worked together to create the ground-breaking Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar. We're now taking that partnership a step further. Several steps, actually.

The deepening ties between the two companies is far more than a branding exercise, with an expanded technical partnership taking concrete form – bad pun intended – in the shape of a new Advanced Performance Centre at our Milton Keynes home. The new facility will house 110 Aston Martin design and engineering staff who will be working with their Red Bull Advanced Technologies counterparts to create the Valkyrie's successors.

The relationship between Aston Martin and The Team began in 2016 after the two companies combined cutting edge F1 technology and Aston Martin's signature sports car design to produce a ground breaking hypercar. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is set to be the first in a line of new products to be borne of this Innovation Partnership and will make its first run in 2018 before being delivered to customers in 2019.

Aston Martin will feature prominently across the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team from the start of the 2018 season.

Proučavao sam dizajne livreja AM u ostalim serijama i uglavnom su to bili zeleni bolidi/auti (neki mat ofarbani) s belim ili sivim nalepnicama sponzora te upečatljivom svetlo zelenom linijom uglavnom po sredini bolida (možda je baš AM isforsirao onu crvenu nelogičnu liniju posred RB13 bolida).

Former Ferrari F1 engine chief working with Aston Martin

 

Former Ferrari engine chief Luca Marmorini is working with Aston Martin as part of its evaluation of a Formula 1 project for 2021.

The British manufacturer, which will become Red Bull's title sponsor from next season, is interested in F1's next engine rules cycle, but it is keen for costs to be reduced significantly.

Aston Martin president and CEO Andy Palmer told Motorsport.com the company has recruited "the brainpower to be able to develop a Formula 1 engine" in case the new rules prove to be a fit for the British brand.

The manufacturer has confirmed that Marmorini is now involved in its F1 engine evaluation, although that is as a consultant rather than a full-time appointment.

In a statement to Motorsport.com, an Aston Martin spokesperson said: "Luca Marmorini is helping us on a consultancy basis as we continue to evaluate options for the 2021 power unit.

"We have not hired anyone to work full time on this and the power unit remains an area of study for the company, consistent with previous comments and our attendance at the Formula 1 Power Unit Working Group meetings."

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has stated that his team would be "absolutely open" to running an Aston Martin F1 engine in the future.

Daniel Ricciardo says Red Bull got an early start with the design of its car for 2018.

Many were surprised when, despite the big regulations change, Red Bull began this season clearly behind F1's top two teams Mercedes and Ferrari.

But the former champions have caught up through the year, with Australian Ricciardo and his teammate Max Verstappen each winning a race.

"Of course, it's nice that we got better during the season," Ricciardo said.

"But we have to make sure we are not so far behind at the start of the season," he told the Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport Totaal.

"I feel that our starts are always a bit slow -- that's certainly been the case since I started to drive for Red Bull," Ricciardo added.

"But a lot is going to change now. We always thought we started building the car early enough, but maybe it wasn't enough," he said.

"That is why we started even earlier this year. Hopefully, we can fight for the title right from the first race in Melbourne. Mercedes has been winning too much and we want to change that."

ANALYSIS: MAX VERSTAPPEN SURPRISE F1 EXTENSION RAISES QUESTIONS FOR DANIEL RICCIARDO

Max Verstappen has increased his commitment to Red Bull Racing, adding another year to his contract to the end of 2020.
Although comments from Red Bull team boss Christian Horner recently hinted at a long term plan for Verstappen, the announcement on Friday in Austin nevertheless came as something of a surprise.
There are several major questions that it raises; for Verstappen, for the future of Red Bull and for Daniel Ricciardo.

Why does Verstappen need to do this now?
On the face if it, the 20 year old Dutchman is in a very strong position. He is clearly an exceptional talent, highly sought after and could afford to play Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes off against each other for his services. Ferrari has locked down Sebastian Vettel to the end of 2020 and Mercedes plans to open talks with Hamilton for the period after 2018, once this season ends.
So Red Bull has done a mirroring strategy, one that has taken some time to pull together, due to the uncertainty over engine supply.
There is a strategic dimension to this for the teams within the sport, as the teams are all locked in with F1 Group until 2020 and not beyond.
For Verstappen to do this now means a few things. First that Red Bull has some clarity on it’s engine plans for the future. Although it is not confirmed, the F1 paddock view is that Renault will end its supply of engines to Red Bull after the 2018 season. So Verstappen’s first question before putting his name to a contract will have been, “What engine will I have in 2019 & 2020?”.
Team title partner Aston Martin has hinted at making its own engine, perhaps with Ilmor or Cosworth, but that would not be ready during this time frame and Honda has shown the risks of taking too short a time to develop.
Could Aston Martin badge another supplier’s engines in the short term? Mercedes has always said that it would not do that.
Honda is partnered with Red Bull’s junior team Toro Rosso, they could switch to the works team, but that would be a huge leap of faith for Verstappen to believe that they will have that engine at a Mercedes level by the end of next season.
Clearly the financial aspect will have been very favourable to Verstappen, who has time on his side, as he will be only 23 at the end of the contract. Hamilton and Vettel will be at the point of retirement or close to it.
He has to think about his results foremost though. This is a talent that is capable of being a multiple world champion and so he has to back the right horse in this next phase of his career.

What does it say about Red Bull’s plans?
People who look at F1 in purely business terms will look at this and think that it looks like a classic acquisition strategy. Tie up the talent on a long term basis to lock in value as a premise for a sale.
If you were thinking of selling Red Bull to Aston Martin or Porsche, then it makes sense to have the best next generation driver locked in. Except that Porsche is looking at F1 from the point of view of entry under the new rules, post 2020, which is after Verstappen’s contract period ends.
Aston Martin are getting very involved with Red Bull now, but buying the team outright would be a huge step for the small volume car maker, even if it does have very ambitious plans under CEO Andy Palmer.
The Toro Rosso deal with Honda is an interesting dimension to this; a works engine and a payment on top means that the team is less of a financial burden to Dietrich Mateschitz. How long is his commitment to F1 going to continue?
These tactical moves look like pieces of a strategy being put in place.

What does it mean for Daniel Ricciardo?
This is one of the most interesting aspects of the deal; Red Bull director Helmut Marko said recently that Ricciardo was on the market which got everyone’s ears pricked up and if you are going to lock in Verstappen, why not lock in Ricciardo at the same time?
Ricciardo has been looking around and there are possibilities for 2019 at Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and even at Renault. He would not be short of offers as he’s highly regarded and has won five Grands Prix without the most competitive car.
But he has also been outqualified 11 times this season by Verstappen and there’s no getting away from that.
His best hope for the future is to get away from Verstappen, as his prospects for winning the world championship and being a Button or a Raikkonen, rather than a Webber or a Coulthard, lie with his next move.

Daniel Ricciardo says Red Bull team principal Christian Horner reassured him he will have a fair fight with Max Verstappen in the 2018 Formula 1 season after favouritism concerns.

Shortly before Verstappen penned a new deal to remain at Red Bull until the end of 2020, Horner had urged him to stay long term and build the team around him.

Verstappen also received an upgraded Renault engine earlier than Ricciardo in the final part of the season.

Ricciardo, whose current contract expires this year, said Horner took him aside to explain his remarks.

"That is not what you want to hear," Ricciardo told Autosport about what Horner had said.

"I didn't see it in the press but afterwards I found out about Christian's comment.

"It was because he actually came up to me and cleared it up.

"He said 'look, if you've seen the comments, it's not out of context but I didn't want it to come across that way'.

"He said 'please I don't want you to think anything like that. We're fighting for both of you'.

"Max got the updated engine in the last few races, that was the only thing that has ever been different.

"But I don't have any concern with it. If I did, I would have spoken up about it already."

Asked if he felt he would have everything around him to win the 2018 title if Red Bull built a quick enough car, Ricciardo replied: "I do. That's 100% honest."

Ricciardo said he accepted the explanation provided by Horner and is focused on doing the best job he can regardless of Verstappen.

"Even if the engine is a tenth quicker, the person in me says I've just got to drive two tenths better," he said.

"If I'm good enough, I'll beat him anyway! I'm confident.

"I acknowledge that I have to be perfect more often than not if I want to stay in front.

"My Sundays [in 2017] were as good as they've ever been for the most part. The racer in me is very confident and determined."

Ricciardo has said he will take time to make a decision on his future, with potential seats on offer at Mercedes and Ferrari in 2019.

Horner accepted that position, and made clear Red Bull wants to keep Ricciardo for the long term as well as Verstappen.
