No logika i F1 odavno vise ne zive zajedno.

Evo kako su vozaci birali:

Pada u oci Ferarijev prilicno agresivan izbor.

Uglavnom - to je to!

Red Bull is looking into expanding the current layout of the Austrian grand prix venue in Spielberg.

The energy drink brand took the former A1-Ring and Osterreichring back to the F1 calendar in 2014.

But according to Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper, owner Dietrich Mateschitz is now considering reviving an iconic old section of the track called the Westschleife (west loop).

"From a driver's perspective, the old track would be interesting," said F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone.

"It would separate the men from the boys a lot more than it does nowadays, anyway," he added.

Red Bull official Dr Helmut Marko insisted that the expansion is only "in the planning stage" at present.

But he added: "The merging of these two tracks would create one of the most attractive and fastest race tracks in the world."

Whether it happens or not, Ecclestone said he is happy F1 is back in Austria.

"Red Bull always does a great job. We love coming back there," he told Kleine Zeitung newspaper, ahead of this weekend's Austrian grand prix.

Williams expects the resurfaced Red Bull Ring will make it much harder to manage tyre use during Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix.

The circuit has been extensively resurfaced ahead of the upcoming race. Williams chief technical officer Pat Symonds says this plus an uncertain weather forecast could make for a challenging weekend.

“We will see a couple of significant differences,” said Symonds. “The first is the weather, which is predicted to be unsettled throughout Friday and Saturday, with current forecasts showing Sunday as the only potentially dry day.”

“Perhaps more significantly is the fact that the circuit has been completely resurfaced. In the recent European F3 race, teams reported that it was more severe on tyres, which makes the prospect of a dry race following damp practice sessions even more challenging.”

“That being said, we would expect to see a two-stop race in Austria and the selected tyre choices seem to reflect that. Whatever conditions are thrown at us I have every confidence that the team will come through to gather a strong haul of points.”

The last three rounds of the championship have all been won using single-stop tyre strategies, despite a rules change over the winter which was targeted at increasing the number of pit stops.

Hm, koja je onda Pirelijeva logika ici na najmeksu kombinaciju guma ovde, osim ako se ne racuna na smisljeno izazivanje haosa?

Formula One will run a gauntlet of rain showers over the coming days at the Red Bull Ring.

However forecasters are divided over exactly when the rain is going to arrive. While many agree on a decent risk of rain towards the end of tomorrow’s second practice session, the timing of further showers is unclear.

Around 10mm of rain fail is forecast at some time on Saturday or Sunday, but it could arrive shortly after qualifying and leave the competitive F1 action mostly unaffected.

Those teams hoping for warm conditions, such as Haas, are likely to be disappointed. The weather will get progressively cooler over the coming days, with air temperatures falling to 23C on Sunday. Saturday should see a high of around 27C before the rain arrives.

Lewis Hamilton will receive grid penalties if he uses a new turbocharger or MGU-H during any of the remaining races this year.

The world champion moved onto his fifth turbocharger and MGU-H of the year at the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, the FIA has confirmed. He will receive a ten-place grid penalty the first time he uses a sixth power unit component and five-place penalties for and further sixth elements he uses.

Further penalties will be applied in the same fashion if he uses a seventh or subsequent power unit elements. Hamilton has used a total of 22 power unit components compared to team mate Nico Rosberg’s 15.

Power unit failures earlier in the season have led Hamilton to use up his allocation of components more quickly than any other driver on the grid. The only other driver to have used a fifth element is Max Verstappen, who took over Daniil Kvyat’s allocation when the pair switched teams ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Drivers may use a total of five complete new power units without penalty. The number was increased from four when the calendar exceeded 20 races.

Last year all eight Mercedes-powered drivers completed the entire season using no more than four complete power units.

Power unit components used as of Austrian Grand Prix FP1:

Kao da one neravnine na žutom izazovu rezonancu koja se prenese na zadnji desni koji zbog desne krivine nije pod opterećenjem i puca ogibljenje
