Primenuo sam male izmene što se tiče ultimativnog bolida za obaranje rekorda na zatvorenim stazama, više nije Porše 919Tribute nego Audi R18 eTron Tribute. Jednostavno Audi obožavam a R18 je lepotica koju ne mogu izneveriti. Pogon na sva 4 točka je neverovatan, uz toliko ubrzanje i snagu uopšte ga ne mogu kontrolisati na stazi, samo malo cimanje u sred krivine i eto me u šljunku.

 

U Spa mi je vreme 1:40, Staza de la Sart 2.58 a u Monaku 1:11.

 

Budem za vikend nešto i nasnimao, samo moram malo doraditi zvuk prototipa. Mučim se već duže vreme s time, Robokar te FE i F1 zajedno mi nisu toliko pravili problema kolko Leman prototip.

Uspeo sam skinuti 1:40 u Spa s R18 Tribute, spustio sam na 1:39.046. Izem ti FRAPS, spusti FPS na 20 tokom snimanja a još ni preosetljivost kontrole skretanja zbog prevelikog mehaničkog gripa i pogona na četiri točka mi nikako ne pomaže. Bukvalno sam se klonio nevolja (trave, šljunka) ,umesto da sam lovio idealnu putanju. Evo snimke kruga

McLaren – nikad SUV
Mnogi tradicionalno proizvođači superautomobila poput Lamborghinija (a uskoro će i Ferrari) nisu odoleli SUV trendu pa su napravili i svoju verziju, ali tome se i dalje žestoko suprotstavlja McLaren.

Direktor prodaje i marketinga Džoljon Neš ističe da McLaren ima jasan DNK i da je važno da svaki sledeći model odgovara istom.

"Zadovoljni smo šablonom koji smo uspostavili sa Sports Series i Super Series i ne očekujem neke veće promene u budućnosti. Mislim da je to prilično jasno svima u McLarenu. Deo našeg uspeha je i što smo dosledni onoga što McLaren predstavlja, a svaki naš automobil mora biti odan tom DNK. To je u osnovi lagan superautomobil sa motorom u sredini. Svaki automobil treba da to prati i bude privlačan za vožnju", rekao je Neš.

Neš ističe i da bi prekršio nezvanični sporazum sa klijentima koji kupuju njihove automobile kada bi McLaren napravio nešto konvencionalno.

"Ne bismo pokazali ono što je McLaren kada bismo napravili SUV. Direktori i akcionari imaju istu tačku gledišta. Naš poslovni plan je čvrsto uz automobile koje trenutno proizvodimo. Dok god imamo zdrav povratni odgovor nema potrebe za kompromisima", kaže direktor McLarena.

On je priznao da McLaren testira prototiv električnog vozila kako bi procenili potencijal tehnologije, ali ističe da bi kompromis zbog težine i performansi koje zahteva postojanje baterije bio prevelik.

"Tek kada tehnologija bude omogućila istinsko McLarenovo iskustvo vožnje, tada ćemo napraviti EV", dodao je Neš.

Ima pivo od mene, povodom električnog pogona ironično je to da je Meklaren proizvodio PJ za FE u prvoj sezoni. Definitivno su zagrizli to područje i jednostavno im treba vremena da ga razviju do željenog nivoa. Nebi se uopšte iznenadio debiju u toj seriji.

T1 Turbine shows one possible road to open-wheel future

Keith Hylton knows the feeling of winning championships as an open-wheel racing team owner. The California-based businessman earned Atlantic Championship titles with Hoover Orsi and Ryan Hunter-Reay in the early 2000s, and with the ownership experience behind him, Hylton has turned his attention to building a futuristic race car that can replace some of today’s less inspired creations.

Dubbed the ‘T1 Turbine,’ Hylton’s idea of packaging some of racing’s most interesting – and illegal – technologies into a single formula was handled by conceptual designer Andries Van Overbeeke. Powered by a 700hp Rolls Royce turbine, and propelled through a constantly-variable transmission, the T1’s drivetrain has been banned from every major series for decades.

Having lost a driver who was killed from a head injury suffered during a World of Outlaws event, Hylton’s disdain for Formula 1’s halo and IndyCar’s windscreen led Van Overbeeke to employ a full canopy over the T1’s cockpit, and the choice of “graphene impregnated carbon fiber to increase the overall strength and rigidity” was made for the chassis, along with the car’s suspension and bodywork.

It’s an ambitious concept that Hylton has backed with his own money through the design stage, but it will take a purchase or two to get the T1 Turbine moving.

Provided the car makes it to the racetrack, Hylton told RACER the T1 “would be built as a proof of concept, then either [race in] its own series or replace the cars in a current series.”

Identifying a veteran race car designer to turn Van Overbeeke’s concepts into a fully-developed package, and a proven chassis constructor are also among the next steps for Hylton who said “the major monocoque builders are in Europe, [but] there are a couple of possibilities in the U.S. that we would look at first.”

Although Van Overbeeke’s T1 underwing is not a proper racing design, Hylton plans for the production version to use powerful ground effects tunnels that would generate enough downforce to run the car without front or rear wings.

“As long as we are tied to the wings for downforce they’ll exhibit their design limitations,” he added. “Wing damage is an everyday event that affects the racing and is expensive.”

Eliminating a traditional internal combustion engine for a long-life turbine is another area where Hylton sees an advantage with the T1.

“A turbine would last 10-plus seasons before even a major overall is required,” he said. “Engine costs should be reduced by 70 percent. [And] it’s a much simpler installation in that its air cooled.”

NHRA Top Sportsman racer Randy Alexander was killed in an on-track incident Saturday during the Southern Nationals in Commerce, Georgia.

Autoweek reports after Alexander and opponent Bob Mandell crossed the finish line in the first round of eliminations, Alexander lost control of his 1963 Corvette at 160mph, made a hard left and crossed into the left lane in front of Mandell.

Mandell, who had been clocked at 203mph at the end of his run, T-boned Alexander, causing Alexander’s car to flip and land on the guard wall in the shutdown area.

Mandell was not injured.

The NHRA released a statement Saturday night:

“It is with heavy hearts that we report Randy Alexander of Harvest, Alabama, passed away at a local hospital after sustaining injuries in an on-track incident at the NHRA Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga. NHRA and the entire racing community extend their deepest condolences and their prayers to the participant’s family and friends. We also ask that everyone respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

Ladno nisam odgledao ni jednu trku u F1 i MotoGP. Zauzeti mi vikendi maximalno.

Za koji sat ću otvoriti VN Španije temu, neverovatno koliko obaveza sam imao u poslednje vreme. Ništa ne stižem :( Oprostite ako su mi tekstovi previše "jednostavni" i ne sadrže detaljne analize, sve informacije na koje naletim su s tv prenosa ili ofrlje češljanja po društvenim mrežama. Sam sebi se čudim koliko sam neinformisan, ranije sam čak "znao kad vozači idu u WC" :lol+:
