The goods include but are not limited to:

  • Caterham F1 test car (2013)
  • Caterham F1 car parts (due for Japan 2014)
  • Full size 6 DOF motion platform F1 simulator

  • F1 wheels with tyres
  • High quality drilling & machining equipment

  • Various pit lane equipment including jacks, pumps and starters

We can confirm the goods have been removed from Caterham Sports Limited at the Leafield enforcement address and are in secure storage. A full a detailed inventory will follow shortly with pictures of the goods.

The goods are to be sold by public auction to the highest bidder, unless the sums due under the writ are paid within the seven day notice of sale period, in which case the goods will be released from seizure and available for collection.

Sale by private treaty of specific specialist items may be permissible with leave of the court.

The date and location of the sale are yet to be confirmed but early indications are mid-October at a UK location. Interested parties should contact auctions@thesheriffsoffice.com to register their interest.

On Tuesday morning the Caterham factory in Leafield was visited by bailiffs, with instructions to seize assets belonging to the team because of bills that had not been paid. The team has issued a statement saying that there have been “unfounded and unsubstantiated rumours” concerning actions against 1MRT, the entrant and owner of Caterham F1. The statement said that “all operations are currently in place at Leafield and the race team is doing its preparation in Japan”.

At the same time, an organisation known as The Sheriffs Office says on its website that it has “goods” that were “seized and removed from an F1 team”. These include a 2013 Caterham F1 car, 2014 F1 parts, the team’s F1 simulator, steering wheels, drilling and machining equipment and other equipment and memorabilia. This is being offered for sale and will be sold to the highest bidder in a public auction some time in mid-October. The website says that interested parties should contact auctions@thesheriffsoffice.com to register their interest.

The key question is who owes what and why it has not been paid and this seems to be a very complicated story not only involving the new owners but also the previous owner. This is obviously a problem but the team’s equipment will be out of the UK from now until the last race and so is unlikely to be affected, and any parts needed can probably be built by subcontractors in Germany.

Ovi odlucili da ubiju nekoga: :krsta:

More alarming news about the health of the ailing F1 backmarker Caterham has emerged.

The posts have now been deleted, but race driver Kamui Kobayashi reportedly admitted on Facebook recently that he considered pulling out of the Russian grand prix when Caterham ran out of spare parts.

He posted a photo of broken suspension on his car at Sochi that was repaired rather than replaced.

"It's checked all the time but, even so, being asked to race like this is too scary! I want to go home already," the Japanese said, according to the BBC.

The 28-year-old driver's manager Chikara Funada confirmed that Kobayashi had written the posts, which were at his private Facebook page and not a public profile.

Earlier this month, bailiffs seized items from Caterham's Leafield headquarters, in the wake of founder Tony Fernandes' exit and the arrival of Swiss-Middle Eastern owners represented by new team advisor Colin Kolles.

Now, it emerges that the company that designs and builds the team's F1 cars, Caterham Sports Limited, has been placed into a process of insolvency.

Finbarr O'Connell, working for the firm Smith and Williamson, told the Telegraph: "As administrator I control the machines they are working on, the computers, the factory, the intellectual property.

"If I don't do a deal with 1MRT (the Caterham F1 team) then they (staff) will have nothing to work on and their jobs could be at risk," he revealed.

It is believed the plan of Caterham's new management is to relocate the entire operation, possibly to Kolles' Greding facility in Germany, where the Romanian based his F3 and Le Mans projects.

"For avoidance of any doubt," team boss Manfredi Ravetto said last week, "I'd like to add that Leafield remains the team's base, even though it's no secret that we are looking for a more suitable alternative.

"We look forward to the final three races of the season, we will keep fighting, we will keep improving and we will introduce some positive surprises."

Caterham's financial troubles appear to be deepening, as it emerges the struggling F1 team may have no cars to race at the forthcoming US grand prix.

Reuters reports that the green cars are scheduled to leave Caterham's Leafield factory bound for Austin this weekend.

But the man appointed to oversee the administration of Caterham Sports Limited, reportedly a separate company to the F1 team but also based at Leafield, is warning he will not be releasing the cars amid a legal dispute.

It is the latest instalment in Caterham's financial troubles following the sale of the struggling team by founder Tony Fernandes to a mysterious consortium represented by advisor Colin Kolles, of HRT and Spyker fame.

"My legal advice is that I own the cars and won't be allowing the cars out of the factory until I reach an acceptable agreement," said Finbarr O'Connell, working for the administrators on behalf of unpaid creditors including Exim Bank of Malaysia.

The team, said to now be in talks with the administrator, insists the troubled Caterham-branded company is not associated with the team, while sources say Caterham's F1 future is therefore not endangered.

But O'Connell hinted that the next step could be the team's expulsion from the Leafield factory, which is already being guarded by private security on behalf of the administrator.

"We are allowing 1MRT (the team) to use our facility while we negotiate a settlement," he said. "They need to reach an agreement with us."
