Formula One veteran David Coulthard has warned of an incident-packed weekend in Singapore as his peers gear up for what will be a critical qualifying session under the city’s night sky.

“Unlike Valencia, which was a smooth circuit with very good kerbs, the kerbs here are very aggressive, especially at Turn Ten.”

“We’ve already seen a few people having incidents this morning and I think we’ll see more of the same story during the weekend.”

Gledam prognozu i ona kaže 60% mogućnost da će biti kiša. Ukoliko je ne bude bojim se da ćemo gledati nadmudrivanje kroz boksove kao što je to već neko napisao ranije.

Novi motor za Kovalainena, bez penalizacije

McLaren Mercedes F1 Team driver Heikki Kovalainen received a new engine as the mechanics noticed some wear on the current V8 engine that was fitted in his MP4-23. The Finn will not be penalised for the engine change as he will use his engine 'joker'.

Drivers complain about safety of Marina Bay street circuit


Although there have already been made some improvements on the Marina Bay street circuit, the drivers don't seem all to happy with the new track. The drivers had a one hour meeting with Charlie Whiting yesterday after the free practice sessions to request a number of improvements on the track.

According to the F1 drivers, some parts of the track are very bad lit by the flood lights. They also complained about the pitlane entry and bumps on the track.

Sebastien Bourdais labelled the pit entry for Singapore's new street circuit "incredibly dangerous" during the opening day of practice on Friday.

The Frenchman's concerns about the section, which begins at the penultimate corner of F1's first night race venue, were highlighted when his Toro Rosso teammate Sebastian Vettel ran off the circuit to avoid Jarno Trulli as the Toyota traversed the pit entry.

The pit entry clips the apex of the fast double left hander which rounds out the lap.

The final corner proved a difficult challenge for drivers, catching out spinners Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen, Monza winner Vettel, and proving the scene of Rubens Barrichello's morning crash.

Red Bull's Mark Webber, however, was the first to fall victim of the track, crashing on the entry to the unique grandstand tunnel and damaging the right front suspension of his car.

Although the high bumps on the kerbs at Turn 10 have been lowered, drivers believe that they are still too high. David Coulthard said: "We've seen a few drivers already having incidents there at Turn 10 and I'm sure we'll see more of the same story during the weekend if it can't be changed."

Alonso najbrži na trećem slobodnom treningu


Fernando Alonso continued his promising Singapore form by topping a second consecutive practice session at the Marina Bay track.

In a repeat of his practice two performance, the Renault driver vaulted up the order with an aggressive late lap, setting a 1:44.506 after 58 minutes.

Alonso's effort on soft tyres gave him a comfortable margin over the rest of the field, as he beat second-placed Lewis Hamilton's McLaren by six tenths of a second.

Felipe Massa was third for Ferrari, but the Brazilian set his best time on the harder tyres, and was only 0.127 seconds adrift of Hamilton.

Nelson Piquet claimed fourth in the second Renault, having led the way until the final few minutes, with Williams' Nico Rosberg impressed again in fifth, and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen languishing in 17th after an error.

Monza winner Sebastian Vettel led the way for much of the hour in his Toro Rosso, having leapt to the top by a comfortable margin with his first flying lap of the session. The German stayed ahead until the 35-minute mark, when Piquet beat his time by four tenths of a second.

Piquet remained on top going into the late soft tyre runs, when he was pushed back to fourth by Alonso, Hamilton and Massa.

Rosberg maintained his strong Friday pace to move into fifth at the end of the session, ahead of another eye-catching performance from Honda's Jenson Button, who ran as high as second after making an early switch to soft tyres.

It was another unhappy session for struggling world champion Raikkonen, who locked up and slid off-course at Turn 7. The Finn tried in vain to turn his undamaged Ferrari around in the escape road before eventually having to admit defeat and park the car, ending his session with 15 minutes remaining.

Giancarlo Fisichella had a more destructive incident when he became the first man to crash a Formula One car at the much-debated Turn 10 chicane. The Force India driver misjudged the corner and was launched over the controversial kerbs and into the barriers, causing significant right-front damage to his car.

Red Bull's problems continued, with David Coulthard's car jamming in third gear on the installation lap, forcing him to stay in the garage until the final three minutes.

His teammate Mark Webber made two visits to the escape road at Turn 18, where he had crashed on Friday, but avoided contact this time and completed the session in eighth, behind Robert Kubica (BMW), and ahead of Vettel and his Toro Rosso teammate Sebastien Bourdais.

Heikki Kovalainen only managed 13th in the second McLaren, having narrowly avoided the wall when he made a mistake on his final flying lap.

Dosta timova na ovom treningu simuliše uslove odnosno količinu goriva iz Q3 za razliku od nekih koji idu na minimum goriva i ispitvanje krajnjih performansi bolida.

Po ovim vremenima Masa je 3-5 krugova kraci u prvom stintu.
Na stazi sa vrlo verovatnim Safety car-om, velika kocka.

The angry Spaniard said all his chances of a positive result were gone.

" We haven't been this strong anywhere...

"The pole position was unreachable, but I'm sure we would have been second or third," he said.

"The race is lost. You can't overtake here and I'm starting from 15th, so I will be going out just to lap the track, but it's over already.

Bas sam prizeljkivao Alonsa visoko,pa da malo doprinese borbi,bar u prvom krugu.

Zna li se koliko se gubi na masi goriva za krug?

Baš sam se skenjao! Ovo je bila prilika za više od borbe u prvom krugu. Ovo je bila prilika za dosta bodova, možda i podijum.

Nisam naleteo na podatak kolika je razlika u vremenima sa gorivom za krug više ali ne može biti veća od dva deseta sekunde. Felipe je odradio sjajan posao. Još da mu se posreći da Kimi obiđe Hamiltona na startu i trka je rešena. Ipak ne treba zaboraviti jednu stvar...kišu. Iako tokom jugozapadnog monsuna kiša pada uglavnom ujutro dovoljno je pet minuta vlažne staze da potpuno promeni poredak i reši trku.

Pod rizikom da ispadnem fanser, mogu samo da kazem:"Koja staza :ph34r: :) Podseca me na neki wipe out sa sonya ili slicno :D Mogao bih da gledam one kadrove dva sata, a trka moz da bude kaka god osh :D

Posle svake trke sam sve vise ubedjen da je Vettelu bolje da ili ostane tu gde je ili da ode u neki veliki tim, nista ispod BMW. Ne kapiram logiku da se preseli u drugi osrednji tim (Red Bull), za koji ne mogu vise ni da kazem da je na istom nivou sa Torro Rossom, plasim se da su gori.

Za Masu, sta reci, sjajno.

Kimi i Heidfeld kao dva burazera, bledi, a pojave se na momente.

dovoljno je pet minuta vlažne staze da potpuno promeni poredak i reši trku.

Zivecu za tih 5 minuta. :ph34r:
Mozda i celih 10.Vise ne treba.

Navikavam se na stazu, posle gledanja oba treninga u petak mi se nije svidelo, posle me je podsećala na neki PlayStation Burnout, ali mislim da je ipak dobro da se u serialu F1 pojavi i nešto ovako. MAS izvrsno, pogotovo me ohrabruje vreme iz Q2 gde je oprao HAM skoro za sekundu. Nadam se da ćemo sutra videti start iz 2007 koji su MAS i RAI imali fantastično uigran sa pozicija 1,3. Što znači, u prvu krivinu ulazimo 1-2. Williams odlično, od vremena MON a RSC prvi put 2x u prvih 10, Toyota bolja od Renaulta samo zahvaljujući kvaru, šteta za ALO, ovo ne može da se stigne. Biće ogroman uspeh ako uzme 1 bod. Ako ne bude nekih izletanja, ne verujem da može na bodove bilo ko sa starta iza 10. mesta, osim ALO.

edit: HEI penalizovan 3 mesta zbog zadržavanja BAR, što znači da imamo vrlo interesantan 3. red, KOV, VET!

Vlazni snovi... :ph34r: Na istoj taktici ko i Luis, eventualno krug laksi. Luis i Kimi su napravili greske u svojim brzim krugovima pa odatle tolika razlika u vremenima.

Napred Vettel! :)

Neka je sa srecom svim mucenicima koji sutra moraju da predju 300km po ovim dzombama(takoreci kaldrmi :D ).

Krivo mi je zbog Nanda. Bas je ispizdeo...dobro mu je islo, ali ne vredi... :D
