Bourdais: New car needs more time

Sébastien Bourdais reckons Scuderia Toro Rosso needed more experience with the new STR-3 to have made it beyond Q1 in qualifying at Monaco.
The Frenchman, making his Formula One Monaco debut this weekend, took 16th position on the grid with the new car, but despite being held up by eventual poleman Felipe Massa on his first flying lap he admitted afterwards that was as high as he expected to qualify on Saturday.
"On my first lap I got caught up with Massa and my second was definitely going to be better, but that would not have changed anything," said Bourdais. "I am finding it very difficult to read what the car is doing, especially under braking when I am locking wheels a lot.
"In fact that was what caused the problem on my next run, because as I knew I had been locking the rear coming out of the tunnel, I moved the balance just one click to the front and sure enough, this time I lost the front.
"Also, as a general comment the car feels loose on the entry to most corners. Our situation was not helped by the fact we still lack experience with the new car and had nearly no dry running this morning," he added.
"You have to pick up the pace by around a second and a half and when you've never done it in an F1 car in Monaco, it's a bit harder than anywhere else."
Teammate Sebastian Vettel endured a nightmare qualifying session, placing 18th, and finding himself wishing for a turn in the weather by Sunday.
"My first lap time looked quite promising," said the German. "After that, I feel we should have stuck with the prime tyre as the option was giving up during the first timed lap. I was unable to maintain a good level of grip over the whole track, so I was losing time, especially towards the end of the lap.
"It’s a shame, because with my penalty I will be at the back of the grid. So I’m hoping for rain.....lots of rain!"

Coulthard to drop five places on grid
David Coulthard will drop five places on the grid at Monaco because the Red Bull team needed to change his gearbox after the accident on Saturday. DC had qualified 10th but will now start 15th. This will move Timo Glock to 10th, Jenson Button to 11th, Nick Heidfeld to 12th, Kazuki Najakima to 13th and Rubens Barrichello to 14th.
It is wet in Monaco this morning.

Evo sad bas gledam prognozu i svuda kazu da se prepodne ocekuje kisa i to jaka, dok ce popodne doci do neznatnog razvedravanja, ali da ce kisa sa pauzama nastaviti da pada. Dakle, mokro sve vreme.

Mozda, ali ga je Kimi zajebao danas... (rekao bih da su na ovoj trci Kimi i Masa zamenili uloge) . Sta mu bi danas. Umeju li u ferariju da gledaju na sat? Bre koja nonsalancija i konfuzija... Seronje

Potpuno bi imao pravo da ga nalupa ko kurvu... Ne znam sta se desilo da onako izvrti auto i razvali ga jadnog (i da smorili ste vise sa tim pijandura)

Prvo da naglasim koliko sam srecan sto Raikonen nije osvojio niti jedan bod.
Pljuvasmo ovde Masu zbog nekih gresaka, a Raikonen se pokazao kao daleko gluplji, pocevsi jos sa onim izlaskom na travu u Australiji koji je rezultirao okretanjem, pa zatim i ovim danasnjim neprevazidjenim idiotizmom. Stvarno Sutil treba da mu se nahebe keve.
Trka zanimljiva, radovao sam se kisi jer je to jedini faktor koji trku u Monacu moze da ucini interesantnom. Nije mi bas bilo jasno zasto su onoliko cekali da stave kisne pneumatike. Odmah na pocetku, posle samo par krugova, videlo se koliko bolidi "igraju" po stazi i bilo je ocigledno da ce doci do udesa. Cenim da je trebalo odmah pozvati vozace na promenu, a ne cekati da se skrljaju. Srecom za Hamiltona da nije morao da odustane.
U svakom slucaju Britanac je odvezao sjajno celu trku i potpuno zasluzeno pobedio. Cestitke.

Sutil...tragedija!!! Fenomenalna vožnja, stvarno šteta.
Hamilton šampionski.
Alonsa je jako koštala ona glupost sa Nickom i kasniji odabir full wet guma.

Ok...kapiram emocije i sve, ali pretera ga brate...ko da se ovaj namerno zakucao u Sutila jbt...Sutil treba veceras da nadje onu Finsku pijanduru u nekoj diskoteci i da mu polomi obe noge. Koji magarac!
