Notes:

Second Night of Portishead performing at All Tomorrow's Parties.

This is the better recording, better audience, and in my opinion, the better performance. Both shows had identical set lists.
Five new songs were performed (Wicca, Hunter, Mystic, Machine Gun, and Peaches), most having a much stronger
rythmic feel than most of their past work. Andy played drums or percussion on all the new songs - none included any turntable.

The performance was absolutely flawless and this is as close to a perfect unauthorized audience recording as I have
ever made - in 10 years of rolling shows. Absolutely everything came together - including lots of luck.

New song titles are from a set-list that was thrown into the audience by one of the stage-hands after the show.
No set-lists were given out after the first show, but I have confirmed the set-lists are the same.

Definitivno gresis.
Ne znam koliko si uzivao/la na njihovim prethodnim albumima. Portishead je bend koji ili volis ili ne volis. Po meni ovim su albumom svojoj publici posle toliko godina, ostavili jos jedan masterpiece. Ako ne mozes da osetis koju kolicinu emocija evocira Beth Gibbons svojim nacinom pevanja, onda je verovatno to razlog tvog nezadovoljstva. A ne zato sto je album Third los.
Pokusaj da ga preslusas jos nekoliko puta, jer ovo je daleko, daleko od komercijalne muzike.

Help!!! Gde da nadjem novi album...torent na koji sam naisla je "mrtav"

Third je zvučno najosobeniji album Portisheada. Produkcijski se drastično udaljio od prethodnika i podsjetio na, recimo, poštovani Mezzanine. Tvorci su hrabro odustali od jedinstvenog (al, molim lijepo, dvaput odsviranog) podložnog gramofonskog sekvenciranja i basova koji uništavaju zvučnike i posvetili se nešto organičnijem pristupu, pa tako sada čujemo prašinasto pokrovljene instrumente, prljavu, usporavajuću filterizaciju preteških gitarskih rifova, epileptične lupove i polupane ritmove ispod prekrasnih vokalnih melodija..

Album možda ima nešto duži uvod, ali onda kreće onaj pulsirajući trip-dance u We Carry On i mračna priča dobija epske razmjere. Nastavlja se kroz Machine Gun, tronaličnu u mehanizovanoj konstrukciji, vokalu u kome je madam G dotakla srce one zvijezde lutalice s prvog albuma i retro sinti-na-sinti finalu u kome ja pristrasno čujem tribjut voljenome Kraftwerku. Melanholična Magic Doors zatvara triling meni lično sasvim pripadajući "greatest hits" kolekciji od Mysterons, Wandering Star, Roads, Undenied, Over, Only You.. Onaj mučni zvuk koji se ponavlja nekoliko puta na kraju albuma - to može biti samo Spilbergov strašni tripod koji oglašava svoje buđenje i ujedno završetak svega živog..

Iako se ne vraćam često diskovima Portisheada, ipak su oni jedan od tri benda čijim se premijernim druženjima uživo nadam. Volim jake ploče, a Third mi u svom muzikalnom hororu zvuči.. zabrinjavajuće dobro.

Imaće mjesto na godišnjoj listi.

Novi singl "Chase The Tear" pušten 10. decembra na International Human Rights Day

The one-time long dormant Bristol band have clearly found some sort of rhythm, signing to Amnesty International and already releasing a new track "Chase The Tear" for the organization. The song was heard first on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show last night, but appears everywhere else today (12/10), International Human Rights Day.
