On - veteran je vec postao legenda kluba.
DEAN made his name as a striker with his hometown club, Hull City, before switching to a midfield role later in his career.
Moved to Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen but returned south of the border with Oxford and then Bradford City.
Hard working and powerful, Dean joined Boro during Terry Vanables' time as head coach at the Riverside and scored on his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
Spent a short spell on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in the 2001/2002 season but was straight back in the first team squad on his return to Teesside.
Came off the bench to head home Benito Carbone's corner to earn Boro a 2-2 draw at home to Leeds United in February 2002.

Diras nam povremenog reprezentativca? Da nije njega i Southgatea...
UGO JOINED Boro from Aston Villa on November 20 2000. The 6ft 2in defender is Boro’s record signing, costing a cool £8m.
A strong and pacy defender who's never afraid to commit to a challenge, Ehiogu was born in Hackney in 1972 and joined his first club West Brom in 1989. Two years later Ron Atkinson paid a bargain £40,000 for his services and took him to Aston Villa.
He made over 250 appearances in the claret and blue of Villa before being transferred to Boro.
He was a League Cup winner under Big Ron at Villa and two years later he received his first England cap when Terry Venables called him in to the squad for the tour of China in 1996.
He was recalled to the squad after his move to Boro and has won further caps under new coach Sven Goran Eriksson, scoring for his country in a 3-0 win over Spain back at his old Villa Park hunting ground.

GARETH wasted no time becoming a firm favourite at the Riverside, winning the club’s Player of the Year award in his first season after a series of assured displays.
He began his career as a midfielder at Crystal Palace before moving to Aston Villa where he established himself as one of the country’s best defenders.
Gareth has won almost half a century of England caps and is expected to play a part in England’s bid for glory in the Far East this summer.
A model professional, Gareth also wears his heart on his sleeve and has delighted fans with his three-punch salute at the end of Boro victories.
Captained England for the second half of a 1-1 draw with South Korea in Beju in the penultimate warm-up game ahead of the 2002 World Cup.
