Tradicionalniji Turci, inače, žrtvuju životinje, obično ovce ili stoku, u okviru godišnjeg muslimanskog praznika Festivala žrtve, početkom januara, ali i kada se obeležava početak ili kraj nekog posla.
Ipak, kako su fotografije sa aerodroma osvanule na naslovnicama turskih novina, turske vlasti bile su veoma nezadovoljne takvim publicitetom, naročito zato što su pod pritiskom Evropske unije, čija članica Turska želi da postane, uveli kazne za one koji kolju životinje van za to namenjenih objekata. Australian chemical free camel meat is being accepted as an international trading meat product. Now exporting to the Middle East, throughout Asia, Canada, the USA, and Europe.
Camel is available in carcass form or fresh chilled / frozen vacuum-packed cuts.

Probao moj cale u Alziru, kamilje srce, komadi mesa na raznjicu, kaze da je bilo mnogo dobro, malo jace od govedine.
