Power steering biggest challenge - Leclerc
10:18 – Sauber tester Charles Leclerc says getting accustomed to Formula 1's power steering is the major challenge he faces compared to Formula 2.
Leclerc has dominated this year's Formula 2 championship, claiming eight poles and six victories, and wrapped up the title at the penultimate round at Jerez earlier this month.
Ferrari-backed Leclerc carried out the second of four planned practice runs at the Circuit of the Americas and finished 19th quickest, 0.380s behind team-mate Marcus Ericsson.
Leclerc reckons adjusting to the power steering, which is set up for regular drivers Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein, has been his primary hurdle.
"I think the only thing where I need to get used to it a bit more than in Formula 2 for now is the power steering – that's something that I struggle a bit with for now," he said.
"But obviously I'm also driving in Marcus' and Pascal's cars, and the power steering is set up for them, and this is probably not the best thing I would like for myself.
"But at the end I just need to focus on taking the most experience possible.
"Next year, if I get the possibility to be in Formula 1, then we will work on all these type of things, and my job will be to perform like in any other series."
On the step up between categories, Leclerc said: "It's so much different. I think it's a completely different world.
"We have so many more things to do in Formula 1 compared to Formula 2, in Formula 2 you just go and drive and that's it, but in Formula 1 there are lots of procedures.
"It's also driven quite differently because there's quite a lot of electrical system and hybrid engine and all these types of things that changes to Formula 2.
"It's always hard to get used to it, but it's like this, I need to get used to it."
Leclerc commented after clinching the Formula 2 crown that he would ask for an update on his Formula 1 chances from his manager, but revealed that no decision has yet been taken.
"I made the phone call, but it's still in discussion," said Leclerc.
"No decision has been made yet. We will see what the future holds. Hopefully I can get a Formula 1 seat next year."

Koja je logika pomeranja kvalifikacija za 16 casova po lokalnom vremenu? U Evropi time ispadaju iz prajma, a ne vidim neku posebnu dobit u Americi. Sta ima tamo subotom od 14 do 15 da je ovakva izmena bila neophodna?
Verovao ili ne pomereno je zbog Timberlakeovog koncerta.
