ROLAND GARROS FULL DRAW ANALYSIS, PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS!
POSSIBLE OPPONENTS:
Rafael Nadal:
1R - Robby Ginepri
2R - Paul-Henri Mathieu/Dominic Thiem
3R - Vasek Pospisil
4R - Nicolas Almagro/Tommy Haas
QF - Grigor Dimitrov/David Ferrer
SF - Stanislas Wawrinka/Andy Murray
F - Novak Djokovic/Roger Federer
VERDICT - Hard draw. Conditions at RG seem to be damp, which means a big hitter might be able to trouble Rafa early in the tournament (like last year, Brands and Klizan). He doesn't have any big hitters in the early rounds except for Pospisil, so a comfortable first three rounds look likely. However, he might face the two men who heralded his fall during this claycourt season, back-to-back, Almagro and Ferrer. Neither Almagro nor Ferrer have done anything against him at RG, though (Rafa has beaten Ferrer 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 and Almagro 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in 2012 and 2008 respectively). If he finds his form and gets through that he will have a potential rematch against his Australian Open conqueror, Wawrinka. Rafa owns Wawrinka at RG as well, and it is clay after all, so expect to see him through to the finals. There he will face Djokovic, 9th RG v/s Career Slam, and the battle for the No. 1 spot.
Novak Djokovic:
1R - Joao Sousa
2R - Jeremy Chardy
3R - Marin Cilic/Pablo Andujar
4R - Jerzy Janowicz/Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
QF - Milos Raonic/Kei Nishikori
SF - Roger Federer/Tomas Berdych
F - Rafael Nadal
VERDICT - Moderately hard draw. Djokovic will have no problems until round 4 for sure. Chardy has beaten delPo in a Slam and Federer on clay, but Djokovic shouldn't have any trouble dispatching him. He does have a possible round 4 match-up against Tsonga, who had four match points against him in their 2012 QF here. If that match does happen, it will be interesting. His quarterfinal will be a breeze, unless Raonic shows the form he had in their Rome SF. Best-of-five sets is a different ball game, however, so expect Novak to reach the semis without a problem. The semis will be interesting - Federer has beaten Novak twice this year, including once on clay. And Federer is a beast in Grand Slams... he does have 17 of them. It will be very interesting to have that semifinal, and very similar to 2011. In 2011, Novak had a great clay season, beating Rafa at Rome and Madrid, and threatening to get RG as well, with Rafa looking out of sorts. Federer stopped him in their magnificent SF match. This year, Novak beat Rafa at Rome again and Rafa looks shaky again. Can Federer stop him again?
Roger Federer:
1R - Lukas Lacko
2R - Qualifier
3R - Dmitry Tursunov/Filippo Volandri
4R - Ernests Gulbis/Mikhail Youzhny/Radek Stepanek
QF - Tomas Berdych/John Isner/Tommy Robredo
SF - Novak Djokovic
F - Rafael Nadal
VERDICT - Easy draw. Federer will easily sail through to the fourth round, and there he might face Gulbis. Federer's maturity and decent form (final of Monte Carlo for the first time since 2008!) should get him through that. He might have a QF match with men who have beaten him in Slams before - Berdych or Robredo. Both of those were at the US Open however, and both those men were in great form. Neither of them are in that kind of form right now. The semi with Djokovic could be the match that decides the fate of the rest of the year... and if he wins, we will have Fedal final #5 on the hallowed grounds of Stade Roland Garros. (2011 deja vu again!)
Stanislas Wawrinka:
1R - Guillermo Garcia-Lopez
2R - Yen-Hsun Lu/Adrian Mannarino
3R - Deliciano Lopez
4R - Gael Monfils/Fabio Fognini
QF - Richard Gasquet/Fernando Verdasco/Andy Murray
SF - Rafael Nadal
F - Novak Djokovic/Roger Federer
VERDICT - Hard draw. Wawrinka hasn't been in the best of form since Monte Carlo, losing early in both Madrid and Rome. His first three matches seem fairly straightforward, but then he could face Monfils. With the home support that helped him beat Berdych in the first round last year, Monfils could pose tough problems for Stan. If he manages to get through, he has a likely QF with Murray, which is similar to last year's USO QF. The semi will be the hardest ask of all - a man who has lost just once in 60 matches at the event - Rafael Nadal. If he pulls off another upset of Nadal in a Slam, we could have the first-ever all-Swiss Slam final, or another Stan-Nole epic. Exciting stuff.
Andy Murray:
1R - Andrey Golubev
2R - Dustin Brown/Marinko Matosevic
3R - Philipp Kohlschreiber
4R - Richard Gasquet/Fernando Verdasco
QF - Stanislas Wawrinka
SF - Rafael Nadal
F - Novak Djokovic/Roger Federer
VERDICT - Doesn't really matter, Murray is going to lose anyway. Just kidding. It's a moderately hard draw for Andy. Kohlschreiber is a dangerous floater, and so is Verdasco. Gasquet will be playing at home with a lot of support and could do well against Andy. If he gets through that, he will have to beat the three best players of 2014 in a row - Stan, Rafa and Nole (or Roger!). Daunting task.

Raonic neće stići do njega, a i ako dođe do tog duela biće mnogo lakši meč nego u Rimu.

Nadal će morati preko Almagra, Ferera i Wawrinke do Novaka.

A kakav Berdih, ako i dodje do tog meca, Fed lagano dobija  B-)
