Posle nezavisnosti uz stalna strana ulaganja ekonomija beleži konstantan rast.

Singapore street racing - the technical requirements

The all-new 5.067-kilometre Singapore street circuit, venue for this weekend’s night race, looks like being one of the slowest, but most exciting, of the season, with teams likely to run with high downforce and projected lap times in the 1m 45s region. As a step into the unknown, the teams have been running computer simulations to get a rough idea of the ideal set-up required. In reality, though, it won't be until the cars take to the track on Friday evening that the teams will get a proper understanding of the demands of the track. Renault run through what they are expecting this weekend…

Tyres
Much like Monaco, grip levels are likely to be low at the new Singapore street circuit.
Therefore Bridgestone will supply the soft and super-soft compounds from its 2008 range, the very same compounds that were taken to Monaco, Budapest and Valencia. This will offer good grip on what is expected to be a very green track surface at the beginning of the weekend. However, like any temporary circuit, grip levels will ramp up as the track evolves across the weekend and rubber is laid down.

Aerodynamics
After Monaco, Singapore looks like being the second slowest circuit of the season. The team will therefore run with a high downforce package to give the car good stability under braking and to push the car into the ground in the corner exits to maximise traction and ensure good acceleration.

Brakes
Initial simulations suggest that the circuit will be quite demanding on the brakes with wear rates being similar to somewhere like Melbourne. It is not the severity of the braking but rather the regularity that makes it so demanding as the brakes will get little respite. Efficient brake cooling is therefore a must.

Suspension
Suspension set-up is one of the most difficult things to predict when planning for a new circuit. However, for any street circuit with a high percentage of low-speed corners, mechanical grip is always valuable and the team will work hard to ensure they give the drivers a supple enough suspension to get good clean exits out of the slow corners and a car that can ride the bumps and any changes of camber.

Engine and gearbox
Street circuits tend to be less severe on the engine due to the low percentage of the lap spent at full throttle, but the engine can still be under stress as it will be used in a very stop-start fashion. Closely-spaced gears ratios will be used at this circuit in order to optimise acceleration, and get the most from the engine at low speeds, while the engine team will work on the mapping to ensure the engine delivers good torque from low revs, allowing early throttle application.

Rain threat to come true in Singapore

Posted 23 September 2008 at 09:05 GMT

Rain is a very real possibility this weekend for F1's first ever floodlit night race on the twisty streets of Singapore.

Local forecasts predict stormy, tropical and wet conditions throughout this week and into the weekend, with rain typically the most likely in the city-state in the evenings.

Wet conditions under the beaming lights of the inaugural race are a concern particularly for the drivers, who are unsure how distracting reflections from puddles on the track surface, and glimmering rain droplets, will be.

"It rains every night (there)," team owner Vijay Mallya, a long-time Singapore resident, said. "You don't have to pray for rain, it just comes."

Further complicating the unique track conditions will be the fact that, because of the European time difference, most teams have decided that not acclimatising to the Singapore time zone is the best preparation for the night race for the drivers.

While drivers usually prepare for long-haul races by arriving early and adjusting, drivers will fly into Singapore as late as possible, and will eat breakfast in the afternoon, have dinner after midnight, and go to sleep in the early hours of the morning.

"We will concentrate on getting our rest and nutrition right to ensure the body is ready to react in the right way when required," said Honda driver Jenson Button.

mislio sam jedan poll, ko će pobediti u trci, gde bi bilo pored imena vozača, HAM, MAS, KUB itd, itd i anonimna opcija pobednik kvalifikacije.

Glasam MAS 2x ako bude suvo, ako bude mokro HAM ili RAI.

Još malo o vremenu. Singapur ima dve sezone monsuna u godini. Trka će biti tokom kraja drugog tzv južnozapadnog monsuna.

The Singapore meterological office characterises the typical weather in the southwest monsoon season as follows:

Shower/thunderstorm activity occurs between predawn and midday. “Sumatra” squalls are common. Smoke haze is common during days of widespread dry weather. Occasional wind gusts of 12-22m/s. Intense thunderstorm activity lasts less than 30 minutes.

However it claims the chance of thunderstorms during the southwest is much higher in the morning:

During the southwest monsoon season, thunderstorm occurence is high between 0500hrs and 0600hrs.

In terms of temperature:

The diurnal temperature variation is small and is observed to reach highs of 31-33C during the day and lows of 23-25C during the night.

September has an average of 10.8 days of rain in Singapore and 14.9 days of thunder and lightning. The month as a whole is described as:

Generally hazy, with scattered showers/thunderstorms in the late morning and early afternoon. Sumatra-type early morning thunderstorms can still be experienced and during temporary and during temporary incursions of northwesterly winds, late afternoon and early evening showers or thunderstorms are likely.

Sto?

Dakle-kisa. :D
